Being able to bring home entertainment is a luxury. This is because until recently, only a few households could afford a home theater system. What was once only in the realm of the rich to afford, is now a thing of the past. Home theater systems are now becoming available to greater number of households because the information about basic home theater design is within anyone's reach. The basic home theater design only requires three basic components and these three components are already affordable for most average income earners.

However, before you start thinking about basic home theater design for your home theater system, you need to know the size of the room you intend for your home theater set up. The size of the room where the home theater will be set up will depend on how basic the home theater design needs to be.

Home theater experts recommends that if the room is quite small, all you need for your home theater design is a television set, three speakers and a DVD player. The home theater design depends on the shape of the room. The position of the speakers are left, right and center of the room. Basic home theater design also requires a television set bigger than 27 inches. If your home theater design is too small, it will not create a movie theater-like experience.

In home theater design, you need to consider the sight and sound of a movie theater. The main reason why people go to a movie theater, is to experience the big screen and the surround sound. With respect to the surround sound of a movie theater, the basic three speakers configuration is only applicable for smaller rooms. If the room is bigger, the home theater design needs to incorporate more than three speakers. It may be necessary to go up to six speakers and a subwoofer for the surround effect. Going back to a small room, if you will only put three speakers, you may want to consider buying a high quality brand speaker; this will give you enough surround sound for a smaller room.

If you have a small budget, ensure that the store where you plan to buy your speakers will allow you to test the product in your room. If it will not give you a good surround sound, they should allow you to return or replace the unit. This is because some speakers sound good in the store but when you finally set them up in a small room, the effect is not very good. Find a neat deal where they can allow you to return or replace the speakers. However, if your budget is sufficient, you may want to consider hiring the services of a professional home theater designer.

A home theater designer will be able to design the home theater better and with complete accessories. He or she may require checking the power rating, and the need for amplifiers. They may also recommend using home theater projectors and how the speakers need to be set upand positioned for the best audio effect.

You will get a good home theater design if you are able to hire home theater designers. If your room is large enough, you may also want to entertain the idea of home theater seating and a television cabinet for the complete home theater package.
