Good tight seals on all of your doors and windows are wonderful for energy efficiency and for keeping your home comfortable and draft-free, but they can cause some major problems for your health. A HEPA air purifier is a great way to significantly reduce the level of allergens and pollutants that are trapped in your energy-efficient abode.

The fact is that allergens, contaminants and toxins are being trapped inside your home. Because most Americans now spend upwards of 90 percent of they day locked inside homes and offices, there has never been a greater need for good, effective air purifiers. To help protect and restore health, the HEPA air purifiers are among those favored by experts.

A HEPA air purifier is the standard against which air purification systems are measured. HEPA air filtration systems were developed and designed originally by the Atomic Energy Commission, an agency of the U.S. government, for the purpose of capturing radioactive dust particles. A HEPA air filter is capable of removing a minimum of 99.97% of all airborne particles down to the size of 0.3 microns. These specifications are part of what strictly defines a HEPA filter and separates HEPA from other types of air filtration systems.

Because of the high requirements, the HEPA air purifier filters allow only the most minute particles to escape the filtering while pulling the majority of particulate pollution from the air.

Common allergens such as animal dander, dust mite feces, pollen and dust are trapped in the filter, removing these pollutants from the air. It keeps you from inhaling them with every breath you take in an air-tight, energy efficient home or office. One of the side benefits to using HEPA filtration in your home is that it also reduces the dusting and vacuuming required to keep your home clean. Since much of the particulate is filtered out, it does not have an opportunity to cover your furniture and flooring.

One drawback to employing a HEPA air purifier in your home is that the filter does have to be periodically changed in order for the unit or system to work properly and continue the most effective level of filtration and cleansing of the air. Because these filters must be changed, it is important to consider the cost of replacement filters when you are buying a filtration unit. Sometimes less expensive air purifiers end up having the more expensive filters, so compare filter cost at the same time you are doing your comparison shopping for your air filter.

The biggest advantage to purchasing a HEPA air purifier is that if the brand you choose carries the HEPA certification, you are assured that it meets the standards as set by the U.S. government. If it is labeled a HEPA filter, you will know that it is a filter that will work well and be effective in grabbing the pollutants out of your air.

It should also be remembered that size is an important factor in HEPA filters. The greater the amount of HEPA material in the filter, the greater the capacity for removing contaminants. Size, material and construction quality all have bearing on how well the HEPA air purifier performs, as well as the cost of replacement filters.

The SilentAir 2000 air purifier operates virtually silently because it has no fan or motor. Rather, it uses electrostatic technology to trap particles such as pollen, bacteria, pet dander, and dust.

The unit sends out invisible, negatively-charged ions that attach themselves to airborne irritants. A positively-charged ionization line draws the particles into the machine, where they are trapped on a collection sheet that can capture allergens as small as .002 microns 35,000 times smaller than a typical human hair.

Most fan-powered air cleaners move and filter larger dust particles but Hoover SilentAir Purifier also electronically and silently purifies the air in a home or office by releasing negative ions. These charged ions circulate throughout a room attaching themselves to particles in the air, such as dust, pollen, and bacteria. Then, the positively charged Dielectric Collection Sheet attract and trap these minute contaminants, removing them from the air rather than simply allowing the negatively charged particles to fall within the room.

Hoover SilentAir Purifier is invaluable to those especially concerned with pure, pollutant-free air. Allergy sufferers receive assistance in controlling irritating molds, pollen, and animal dander. Non-smokers will enjoy an environment noticeably less polluted by secondhand smoke.

Hoover SilentAir Purifier deodorizes rooms by removing odor-causing particles and removes irritants that affect tired eyes, and it can help reduce the health risks to babies and the elderly by removing airborne bacteria. But Hoover SilentAir Purifiers most important benefits are shared by everyone. Reduced stress and lessened tension can be benefits of its ionizing and air purifying process.

The general feeling of well-being isn't hard to recognize, knowing Hoover SilentAir Purifier is quietly working to purify living and work spaces of pollutants and allergens.
